Celebrating Our New Life In Christ Jesus
Rev. Michael Wakeland, Pastor
‘In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.’ John 1:4
Rev. Jim Keller, Missionary
Rev. James Keller and his family began work with the Burmese in 1998 while he was a student at Concordia Theological Seminary and serving at his fieldwork site, New Life Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. Visiting Asian markets, meeting Burmese refugees, and learning Burmese from a Buddhist monk were all experiences that prepared him for his vicarage and call to New Life to work among the nearly 3000 Burmese who live in Fort Wayne, the largest group
of Burmese refugees outside of Thailand.

Jim was ordained in June 2001, and
in June 2002 he began a separate bilingual worship service for the Burmese. Up to that time, the Burmese had attended the New Life worship service.
The future ministry of L.A.M.B. is to train and equip evangelists, Bible teachers, pastors, and missionaries
for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and plant churches among the Burmese people. This will be done in conjunction with the Board for Mission Services of the LCMS; the Indiana District of the LCMS; the Concordia University System and the theological seminaries of the LCMS.
