Big Idea of the Series: We are engaged in a spiritual war. The good news is that our enemy has already been defeated. The better news is that we do not fight alone. Jesus fights alongside us. He has given us His weapons and armor to win the daily battles in which we find ourselves. However, we should always be on our guard so that we do not give the enemy an opportunity to attack us.
Each week we will learn about a specific way we allow the devil into our lives.
Resist!
Big Idea: We do not wage an attack on the devil. Rather, we resist the devil in the name and power of Jesus.
Be Sober Minded!
Big Idea: Only by keeping our minds clear and our thinking straight can we resist the devil.
Focus on Jesus!
Big Idea: Focusing on Jesus, not on the devil, is the way to victory.
Be Pure!
Big Idea: We cannot win victory over the devil if we allow sin in our lives to rule us.
No Anger!
Big Idea: The devil uses our anger to lead us to sinful actions.
Forgive!
Big Idea: When we withhold forgiveness from others, we are in fact saying that we know better than God. We are making ourselves into our own little god.
